A Father’s Encouragement

Not everyone gets to have their father in their lives or one that is so supportive. When I announced I was going to do a career change a couple years ago, my dad responded that he would financially support me, if needed, to attend nursing school. Luckily I didn't have to rely on him financially, but it is reassuring to know he and my mom would do what they could to help. He's been a great help during my time in nursing school by being generous with his time: Pre-quarantine, he'd watch my daughter with a moment's notice and was our go-to sitter! . . When I was having a hard time decades ago, my father gave me this handwritten message (see pic)…He's always rooting for me! My hope is that you are surrounded by people rooting for you, too — whether it's from the family you were born into or one that you chose. Choose to surround yourself with friends or family who not only encourage your growth and development but who can lift you up when you are down. If you don't have a supportive father figure in your life, I share this message from my dad to you! . . Happy Father's Day to all the supportive loving fathers and father-figures out there!
